ABOUT

MISSION STATEMENT

EZ Animal Rights came forth based on the belief that all sentient beings, including those raised for food, should be treated as humanely as possible, with their suffering minimized to the greatest extent feasible.

EZ Animal Rights exists to improve animal welfare across the United States. The organization will accomplish this by educating the populace on these issues and advocating therefore, as well as by presenting, on its website and across social media, animal rights “targets” to be improved (and bad practices to be eliminated) by state law, and will:
- provide templates for doing so (based on laws successfully passed by certain states)
- modify templates for individual states based on their unique requirements
- engage in outreach to citizenry, for mutual education / assistance

EZ Animal Rights will also work to incorporate technology into its work, by partnering with likeminded nonprofits and other companies to provide consumers with better tools for making more moral and nutritious health decisions.

EZ Animal Rights will first focus on factory farming and excessive tethering of dogs in the state of North Carolina; as EZ Animal Rights’s budget and staff grow, it will expand to other animal rights causes (e.g., captive animals, animal research, companion animals, and wildlife) and other states, as well as pushing for (the ultimate trophy) federal legislation to protect animals.

Through EZ Animal Rights’s actions, the hundreds of billions of animals within the US’s factory farming system will have their welfare / quality of life improved tremendously, and their suffering minimized.

EZ Animal Rights will be expressly nonpartisan and will favor no political parties. EZ Animal Rights will lobby any candidate ostensibly willing to advance its causes. EZ Animal Rights will not be involved in any political movements besides those involving animal rights, given that the causes that it supports have broad support across the political spectrum.

EZ Animal Rights will not scold, will not moralize, and will not antagonize. Instead, we will work to educate and be educated, spread awareness, and work in good faith with all those willing, always keeping our mission and targets in mind.

VISION STATEMENT

By 2028, EZ Animal Rights envisions becoming a prominent force in the fight against animal suffering, throughout the US and beyond. With thriving branches in nearly every state, we will have achieved: much greater public awareness about specific animal rights issues and how to solve them, significant legislative successes, expanded international efforts, and saved trillions (not exaggerating) of animals from needless suffering. Through a proven pattern of accomplishing stated goals and embracing ever more ambitious challenges, our focus remains centered on the mission of mandating humane treatment for all sentient beings.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Picture

Max Peck
Founder

Max Peck is the founder and executive director of EZ Animal Rights.

Since he was young, he has been particularly sensitive to animals, and has been consistently surprised by the egregiousness of their treatment by humans. This has remained consistent throughout his time growing up in Asheville, his college experience at UNCG, and then his time spent living in China, India, and elsewhere for many more years. He has never been a vegetarian, and has never felt scruples about eating ethically-sourced meat from animals whose lives were good, BUT: the practices of factory farms - and the lack of substantial animal protection laws in most states - has always struck him as obviously wrong. (Especially in NC, where he was born, raised, and is now raising a family of his own.)

Finally, he decided to do something about it, and this organization was thus created.

Sam Peck
Vice President

Sam brings over 7 years of experience as a dedicated paralegal, having served at a non-profit law firm committed to providing legal aid without charge to the vulnerable indigent population. Sam's diverse professional journey includes supervising a psychiatric crisis unit and offering compassionate mental health care in a local hospice center. Armed with a B.A. in Sociology and Criminology, an M.S. in Human Services and Clinical Counseling, and paralegal certification, Sam combines a strong educational foundation with practical experience.

Sam's passion for animal rights traces back to a deep-seated belief in the intelligence and emotional awareness of all animals, a conviction continually reinforced by the evolving landscape of scientific understanding. This belief, held since childhood, has fueled his advocacy for the rights of sentient beings.

Sam's commitment to animal welfare is not only professional but deeply personal. Taking the next step has been inspired by a beloved boxer named Bolo, who succumbed to nerve disease in early 2023. Sam dedicates his work on the board to Bolo's memory.

Gwendoline Gonzales
Secretary

Gwen is honored to be part of the EZ Animal Rights launching team and grateful that life gives her the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause. She believes we all have a natural drive to care for our environment and loved ones, furry and otherwise.

Gwen wears multiple hats, from part-time software engineer, to yoga & dance instructor, along with being a volunteer first responder. But the most important role of her life is being the mom of a beautiful human baby and four adorable - albeit spoiled - cats.

Gwen is from France and has traveled the world, and has now settled in the picturesque North Carolina countryside.
